Join an iconic New Zealand business and help shape the future of a more sustainable Aotearoa.

Our client is a long‑standing, NZ‑owned organisation whose core purpose is sustainability and long‑term value for New Zealanders, their communities, and the environment. This is a rare opportunity to join a team that connects people with the tools, insights, and stories that support a better future.

This role is based on site in Hamilton, with genuine flexible working options. It could suit someone keen to commute from out of town or looking to step out of a big‑city environment while still working in a senior, impactful role.

It will be required to be in office ideally 4 days per week (scaling back to 3) and flexible start / finish times. A number of people commute from Auckland, Tauranga & surrounding areas.

About the Role

Not every marketing role is about transformation.

Some are about evolution - bringing fresh thinking to something that already matters.

This Marketing Manager role sits within one of New Zealand’s most purpose‑led organisations, with a strong focus on sustainability and the future of NZ Inc.

The role exists following the departure of a long‑tenured marketing leader and marks a natural moment of change. There’s a strong foundation in place - now they’re looking for someone who can bring a new lens. Reporting into the Communications & Brand Engagement Manager, you will step into an established, capable team, helping them continue to evolve, innovate, and lift their impact.

Your focus will be on strengthening brand foundations, sharpening strategic storytelling, and embedding best‑practice marketing frameworks across the organisation.

What You’ll Lead

Brand‑led strategy
Refine our client’s marketing approach with a strong brand lens — lifting the quality of storytelling, messaging, and positioning across all channels.

Fresh frameworks & best practice
Review existing processes, roadmaps, and performance measures. Bring modern marketing performance, ROI, and planning frameworks that help lift capability and impact.

Clear roadmaps & planning
Work with functional leaders to build annual and multi‑year marketing strategies, audience segmentation, campaign plans, and calendars that support business priorities.

High‑quality delivery
Guide an established team to deliver integrated digital campaigns, meaningful content, and consistent brand experiences for key audiences and stakeholders.

Collaborative leadership
Partner closely with Product, CX, Communications, and wider business teams to ensure marketing is aligned, connected, and clearly understood across the organisation.

Performance & insights
Use data, analytics, and market insights to evaluate effectiveness, refine direction, and ensure marketing investments deliver value.

  • Strong digital marketing capability and confidence using performance insights to guide decisions

This role won’t suit you if you’re looking to completely reinvent or disrupt a legacy organisation — it’s about smart evolution, not tearing things down.
